Heigan the Unclean - Naxxramas

WotLK launch, Naxxramas, early weeks. Our guild was stuck. For weeks it seemed we wiped on Heigan the Unclean. The Safety Dance owned us. Tanks would call “move!” and half the raid would trip over each other, eat plague, or fall off the platform. Healers burned mana chasing the group while trying to stay alive. Voice chat was pure chaos cussing mostly, laughing, then silence as the screen went gray. We were good players. We just couldn’t do the dance right. Some could, some couldn't. Then those that could. Couldn't again. Then one night we call a break. One of our Tank mains, our protection warrior Ughmekill, stays glued to his screen. He’s fidgety, thinking about something, wondering about something wanting to test something. “Hold up,” he types in raid chat. “Healers, Erin and I are staying right on the lip of the platform north-east corner, hugging the railing.” We all stare. He explains: “The eruption pattern stops one step short of the absolute edge. If we plant here, Heigan stays in range, we stay in healing range, and the floor never hits us. No dance required.” Skeptical stares all around. We’d been burned before. We pull. First attempt: tanks and healers lock position on the edge like statues. Some still dance the normal pattern. No one dies to floor. Healers happy, tanks happy, and Heigan hits 0%. The room erupts one last time and the edge crew just stands there, untouched, while the rest of us cheer. We downed him. First guild on our server to skip the Safety Dance entirely for the backline. Conclusion / Summary Our guild finally cracked Heigan the Unclean the night we discovered the edge exploit tanks and healers hugging the platform lip and never dancing again. One simple observation turned weeks of pain into a clean, cocky kill. Classic WotLK moment, We earned that one.

The 16-Gold Massacre

The Delve was The Underkeep. We're at Teir 11 and bountiful we've been moving with the surigical precision of a goblin bomb squad. We open to a large area with multiple groups of enemies are waiting to pounce on our group. We're preparing to pull the next pack with the caution of people who valued their repair bills. Then, it happened. A faint, golden glimmer sparkled in a pile of webs located approximately 40 yards behind three patrolling packs of Elites and a very angry group of nemesis enemies. "DON'T YE WORRY, FRIENDS! I SPOTTED SOME TREASURE!" Brann bellowed, his voice echoing with the volume of a collapsing mountain. Before our Tank could even press a defensive, Brann was a blur of dwarven muscle and terrible decisions. He didn't just walk to the gold; he performed a masterclass in "Aggro Optimization": Pack 1: He body-pulled the Nerubian Captains. Pack 2: He ran directly through a web trap, spawning six Skittering Swarmers. Pack 3: He clipped the hitbox of an Elite Weaver while jumping over a stalagmite. Pack 4: He performed a celebratory roll through the final pack of Nemesis enemies as he reached his prize. While the party was being turned into a fine purple paste by 27 different mobs, Brann bent over, picked up a single, dusty coin pouch, and stood back up with a grin that could light up Ironforge. "FOUND A BIT O' GOLD!" The combat log scrolled faster than a Twitch chat: 16 Gold, 42 Silver. The Healer was dead. The DPS were cocoons. The Tank was currently being juggled by a Crypt Lord. As the last player fell and the screen faded to the "Release Spirit" grey, Brann stood over our corpses, completely untouched, reloading his blunderbuss with a look of mild disappointment. He looked at our ghosts, adjusted his explorer’s hat, and sighed with the audacity of a man who hadn't just committed a war crime. "Well, that didn't go quite as planned... Maybe next time we need a better strategy!"
